DIN 17175 Seamless Tubes of Heat-resistant Steel

DIN 17175 6.3 Delivery conditions

The tubes shall e supplied suitably heat treated over their entire length. The following heat treatment shall be used, depending on the type of steel: --normalizing --sueritical annealing --hardening and tempering with continous cooling from the hardening temperature and subsequent tempering --hardening and tempering with isothermal transformation.

The condition for an efficient heat treatment is regarded as satisfied in the cases of the steels St35.8, St 45.8, 17Mn4, 19Mn5 and 15Mo3, if hot workig guarantees a good and resonably uniform structure. Under identical conditions tempering istead of hardening plus tempering may be adequate for steels 13CrMo44 and 10CrMo910. Steel 14 MoV63 and X20CrMoV12 1 must always be supplied in the hardened and tempered conditions.
